Training Methodology
A comprehensive exercise program such as weight training, TRX or R-band training can increase bone density, improve proprioception (balance function), decrease fat, increase muscle mass, increase VO2 max index (cardiovascular function), and even elevate mood levels. Personal training with Ultimate Health comes in two flavors, Concierge training and Live Online training.
Concierge personal training
Simply put, we come to you, saving you time and keeping you safe from crowded gym environments. Working-out with a personal trainer can help you achieve your goals sooner, safer and generally with better results than exercising alone. All workouts are customized for your specific wants and needs taking into consideration present levels of fitness and health. Training begins with a free online evaluation session.
During the evaluation we will discuss your health and exercise history, set a goal profile, and discuss diet We will continue with an evaluation workout making note of strength and flexibility results. Once in person we recommend weight and tape measurements to track progress.
Personal exercise equipment is not required, but can be beneficial. We will bring various resistance bands, TRX, slides, rope and Bosu balls to give you a variety of exercises in addition to body weight movements. Dietary guidance is included in all our plans.
Live Online training
We offer 45 minute customized sessions via Zoom or FaceTime. These sessions are conducted live with real time instruction and feedback. We begin with a free online consultation/evaluation session. During the evaluation we will discus health and exercise history, short and long term goals and diet as well as do an evaluation workout.
During the evaluation workout we will note things such as strength, flexibility and cardio capacity so that we may best customize your plan.
Personal exercise equipment is not required, though we may make suggestions such as resistance bands, slides and a balance or Bosu ball. Much of your workouts would consist of body weight movements as well.
Online training is a great time saver and keeps you out of crowded environments
RESISTANCE Training
Our certified personal trainers incorporate various protocols depending on the desired goal such as: circuit training, burnouts, supersets, super slows, and pyramids. Mixing these techniques at appropriate intervals can keep the results coming.
Burst Training
Studies show that high intensity exercise burns up to 3 times as much fat as more moderate exercise. Our head trainer has designed a program to take full advantage of this using short duration explosive movement techniques, sprinters drills, and the like for upper and lower body. *
functional training
Functional training is exercising the body with natural movements in which the body compensates for all the forces subjected to it. No guided or balanced machines that restrict movement or isolates certain muscle. Functional training allows for fluid movement strengthening you the way nature intended, enhancing total body strength, balance and range of motion. This greatly enhances athleticism. Whereas weight lifting and running can give you some crossover benefit, refined ability necessitates the use of dynamic movement in the proper plane motion for each sport. Strength, speed of movement, alignment, balance, flexibility and coordination are all components of athleticism.
